A tense moment unfolded over the weekend in Miami when a Secret Service agent forcefully shoved a man who tried to get too close to Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, as they left a high-profile event. The incident, caught on video and widely circulated across social media, has since stirred public reaction and prompted an official statement from the Secret Service.
Ivanka and Jared were seen holding hands as they exited Carbone Beach, a star-studded dinner event during Miami Race Week on Saturday, May 3. Surrounded by security and onlookers, the couple made their way to an awaiting SUV when an unidentified man, dressed in khaki shorts, a black t-shirt, and holding a Manila envelope, attempted to walk closely alongside them.

Initially, a plainclothes agent in a blue button-down shirt and black jeans was seen gently redirecting the man. However, the situation escalated when the man reached out and touched the agent. In response, the agent used both hands to shove the man away, causing visible alarm among the crowd and prompting a startled Ivanka to turn around and assess the commotion.
The video shows the agent quickly ushering the former First Daughter and her husband into their vehicle as the situation was brought under control. In a statement to the Daily Mail, the Secret Service explained the encounter, saying: “During a protective movement on Saturday, May 4, 2025, an adult male encroached, coming too close to Secret Service personnel.
A special agent immediately intervened, physically redirecting the individual to reestablish a safe perimeter.” The agency added, “The public is reminded that during protective operations, maintaining a safe distance from law enforcement and protective personnel is essential. Adequate space ensures agents can respond swiftly to unexpected actions and helps safeguard everyone in the vicinity.”

The incident occurred shortly after Ivanka made a rare public appearance at the White House in late April, where she joined her children Arabella and Theodore to celebrate the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl victory. That marked her first return to the capital since President Trump’s second inauguration in January 2025, per the New York Post.
According to sources, Ivanka has chosen to stay out of politics during her father’s second term. “She felt like she was being asked to reveal something she did not know anything about, and she never wants to be in that position again,” an insider, per Daily Beast. adding, “She is completely happy where she is in her life.” Online, users widely supported the Secret Service’s response. One wrote, “Today’s lesson: Don’t eff with Secret Service,” while another added, “He 100% did his job.”
