If you’re thinking of challenging Ivanka Trump, think again. The daughter of former President Donald Trump showed off her growing Jiu-Jitsu skills in a viral Instagram post, lifting her coach, Gui Valente, completely off the ground.
Ivanka, dressed in a crisp white Gi, struck perfect form as she hoisted Valente, one-half of the famed Valente Brothers Jiu-Jitsu duo, into the air. She even added a crying-laughing emoji and tagged him in the photo, poking fun at his surprised expression mid-throw.
Gui and his brother Joaquim Valente co-own a Miami-based Jiu-Jitsu academy. Joaquim recently made headlines after welcoming a child with supermodel Gisele Bündchen, according to The Irish Star.

Ivanka’s Jiu-Jitsu journey has been a major part of her fitness transformation since relocating to Miami. She has spoken openly about her dedication to maintaining wellness goals and embracing new disciplines.
Earlier this year, she posted on Instagram: “Sticking to New Year’s resolutions isn’t easy—only 23% of people make it past the first week. [I’ve fallen into that category many, many times!] But every day is a new opportunity to show up and stay committed.”
She added, “Feeling stronger and more motivated as February begins —let’s keep going! Strong body / Strong mind!” Though Ivanka had previously practiced yoga and Pilates, she says Jiu-Jitsu brought her a new level of physical and mental discipline.

“It’s almost like a moving meditation,” she explained in a recent interview. “Because the movements are so micro. It’s like three-dimensional chess.” The spark for this new chapter came from her daughter, Arabella. During an episode of The Skinny Confidential podcast, Ivanka revealed that Arabella, now 11, was the one who initiated their Jiu-Jitsu journey.

“My daughter Arabella came to me and said, ‘As a woman, I feel like I need to know how to defend myself. And I don’t have a confidence level yet that I can do that. Can you sign me up for a self-defense class?’ My jaw just hit the ground,” Ivanka shared.
What began as a mother-daughter endeavor soon evolved into a full family activity. Now, Ivanka, her husband Jared Kushner, and their children Arabella, Theo, and Joseph all train together.
The Valente Brothers also praised Ivanka in a recent post, writing: “Jiu-Jitsu is more than a martial art… It offers a path to physical confidence, mental clarity, and emotional balance.” For Ivanka, it’s more than just fitness. It’s about purpose, family, and growth—both on and off the mat.
