New Report Suggests Donald and Melania Trump Are Living Completely Separate Lives

In a striking claim reigniting speculation about Donald and Melania Trump’s relationship, controversial biographer Michael Wolff has suggested that the president and first lady are effectively “separated.” Speaking on the Daily Beast podcast on Tuesday, May 13, Wolff painted a picture of a couple leading distinctly separate lives despite frequent public displays of affection.

“They clearly do not in any way inhabit a marriage as we define marriage,” Wolff told host Joanna Coles. “I think maybe we can more specifically say they live separate lives. They are separated. The President of the United States and the First Lady are separated.”

During the episode, the pair also discussed Melania’s conspicuous absence from the public eye. Wolff cited a New York Times feature that revealed how infrequently Melania has been seen in Washington, D.C., since Trump’s return to office. Coles noted that, according to the article, she had only spent 14 of the first 100 days at the White House.

The Times reported that Melania has been “vanishing from view for weeks at a time,” opting to stay in New York City or at the couple’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Though some officials claim she is present in Washington more often than assumed, none could confirm how long she actually remains there.

“The American public has been sold a bill of goods here,” Wolff said, “that, you know, Donald Trump and his glamorous wife. That runs entirely counter to all of the facts here, including the fact that they don’t spend any time together.”

Trump’s camp swiftly dismissed Wolff’s claims. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung issued a scathing statement: “Michael Wolff is a lying sack of s**t and has been proven to be a fraud. He routinely fabricates stories originating from his sick and warped imagination…”

Despite such denials, the couple has appeared united at recent events. At the White House’s Celebration of Military Mothers last week, Trump introduced Melania warmly. Body language expert Judi James described his behavior as “smitten, chivalrous,” noting he even called her “honey” on stage.

Trump also praised her parenting: “I especially want to thank one of the best moms that I know… She’s done a great job.” Adding to the complexity, some insiders argue the Trumps are growing closer. Journalist Mary Jordan, author of The Art of Her Deal, told The Times, “They’ve been in a bunker together and they’ve come out of it closer.”

Jordan emphasized that Melania’s current focus is their 19-year-old son, Barron, now a student at NYU. While speculation persists, the true nature of the Trumps’ relationship remains as private and puzzling as ever.
