Former NBC host Chuck Todd has sharply criticized Hunter Biden’s recent media blitz, warning that the interviews are doing more harm than good—for Hunter, for Joe Biden, and for the Democratic Party as a whole. Hunter Biden, son of the president, appeared in two headline-grabbing interviews this past week: one with Andrew Gallaghan’s Channel 5 podcast and another with former DNC chair Jaime Harrison on the At Our Table podcast.
In both appearances, Biden delivered profanity-laced tirades against his critics, discussed his struggles with substance abuse, and offered controversial insights into his father’s June 2024 debate performance.
“I don’t think this does Hunter Biden any good. I don’t think this does Joe Biden any good. It certainly doesn’t do the Democratic Party any good,” Todd said Friday on his podcast. “I’m generally an advocate for going to therapy—but let’s not do it in public. Try to deal with your issues amongst yourself.”

The interviews quickly went viral, featuring Hunter lashing out at a number of high-profile figures. He took aim at actor and longtime Democratic donor George Clooney, calling him “not [a] f–king actor, [but] a brand,” and dismissed CNN’s Jake Tapper for having “the smallest audience on cable news.” He also blasted Democratic strategist James Carville for not having “won a race in 40 f–king years” and referred to the hosts of Pod Save America as “junior f–king speechwriters.”
In addition to his personal rants, Hunter controversially revealed details about his father’s state during the first presidential debate against Donald Trump. “I know exactly what happened in that debate,” he said. “He flew around the world … He’s 81 years old. He’s tired as s–t, they give him Ambien to be able to sleep, and he gets up on the stage and he looks like a deer in the headlights.”

Todd didn’t just take aim at Hunter—he also criticized the podcasters who invited him on, accusing them of prioritizing spectacle over substance. “I have a real problem with the folks that are booking him—if you’ve chosen to book Hunter Biden, you’ve chosen to book spectacle,” Todd said.
“The two interviews that have gone viral were both designed to get attention, not surface new facts.” Summing up his stance, Todd made his position crystal clear: “I will never book Hunter Biden. Number one, he’s not the candidate… He’s a son defending his father.”
