A 24-year-old woman finds herself entangled in a serious legal situation, as she is now facing an assault charge in connection with a disturbing incident that unfolded within her apartment. Allegedly, she engaged in a violent altercation involving two other women, one of whom was subjected to a stabbing below her eye.
Reportedly, the incident took place on Sunday, February 11, shortly after midnight, prompting a swift response from officers of the Lincoln Police Department. The scene of the altercation was located at a residence on North 37th Street and Madison Avenue, where law enforcement encountered two females who claimed to have been victims of the assault.
According to the accusers, the accused, Tatiana Iniguez, launched a physical attack against them following their commentary on the cleanliness of Iniguez’s living quarters. Their remarks pertained to the unsanitary conditions observed in the apartment, particularly notable due to the presence of two children residing in the household.
In the course of the altercation, Iniguez purportedly proceeded to choke one of the victims before striking the other woman when she attempted to intervene. Matters escalated further when Iniguez allegedly brandished a knife and inflicted a laceration under the eye of one of the women. The severity of the injury is emphasized by the fact that it measured half an inch in length. Additionally, defensive wounds were observed on the hands of the victim who was stabbed.
The situation at the residence was further compounded by the presence of four children at the time of the altercation. Upon investigating the premises, law enforcement officers noted the presence of an “extreme amount” of dog feces and diseased mice in the basement, alongside other indicators of unhygienic living conditions. Consequently, the children were removed from the environment and are now under the care of a family member.
Official records from the Lancaster County Department of Corrections reveal that Iniguez has been formally charged with second-degree assault, along with the possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. This development underscores the gravity of the situation and highlights the potential legal ramifications awaiting the accused.
