WASHINGTON, Conn. (WFSB/Gray News) – A one-month-old infant has died, and his mother suffered serious injuries after the pair were reported missing in Connecticut, authorities confirmed.
Connecticut State Police said 27-year-old Sadie Fleming and her son, Hudson, were reported missing early Sunday morning. A Silver Alert was issued after Fleming was last seen leaving her Brinsmade Road home with the baby between midnight and 7 a.m.
After an intensive search, both were located later that evening. Police discovered Fleming on a wooded road in Washington, severely injured. She was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Tragically, Hudson was found unresponsive in the nearby woods. The newborn was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital, told WTNH.
Authorities have not disclosed the circumstances leading to their injuries or disappearance. As of Monday, no arrests had been made, and no suspects had been identified. However, state police assured the public there is no ongoing threat.
