Louisiana Man Injects Mother with Meth, Beats Her to Death, and Hides Body in Trash Can

A Louisiana man accused of injecting his mother with methamphetamine and beating her to death is now facing a slew of additional charges as the investigation into the gruesome crime continues. Aaron Lloyd, 33, of Opelousas, was initially booked on charges of first-degree murder and distribution of Schedule II controlled dangerous substances (CDS).

However, jail records now confirm that he has been rebooked into the St. Landry Parish Prison on multiple new charges, including obstruction of justice, failure to seek assistance, aggravated second-degree battery, and possession with intent to distribute Schedule II CDS. According to authorities, Lloyd was arrested in Krotz Springs following a disturbing confession.

Police say he admitted to injecting his 65-year-old mother, Lisa Lloyd, with meth before brutally beating her to death. After the attack, he allegedly disposed of her body in a garbage can outside her home on Park Circle in Opelousas. The horrifying case came to light after neighbors reported a foul odor coming from the residence, according to local NBC affiliate KADN.

When officers arrived to investigate, they discovered Lisa Lloyd’s body inside the trash bin, sparking a full-scale homicide probe. “This is a deeply disturbing case, and our detectives are continuing to work every angle of this investigation,” Opelousas police said in a statement.

“Further arrests could be made as new information comes to light.” The murder of Lisa Lloyd marks the fourth homicide in Opelousas this year, though residents say violence of this nature is extremely rare in the neighborhood. “Park Circle is usually a quiet place,” said one neighbor who requested anonymity.

“We don’t see this kind of thing happen around here. It’s heartbreaking.” As investigators gather more evidence, police have not ruled out the possibility of other individuals being involved. They are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward. Authorities have yet to release details regarding a potential motive, but the combination of drug use and violent behavior has raised broader concerns about substance abuse and mental health in the community.

Aaron Lloyd remains in custody without bond. The district attorney’s office has not yet indicated whether prosecutors will seek the death penalty if a conviction for first-degree murder is secured. Meanwhile, the tragic loss of Lisa Lloyd has left the community reeling, with local leaders calling for greater resources to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future.
