Florida Man Allegedly Raped Woman After Ambushing Her in Parking Lot with Rock and Screwdriver

A 41-year-old man is facing severe criminal charges after allegedly committing two violent assaults in Miami-Dade County, including a rape and a separate attack on a hotel employee, authorities confirmed.

Daysnel Hernandez was arrested early Saturday and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to jail records obtained by CBS News Miami. He faces multiple felony charges, including armed burglary, attempted second-degree murder, armed kidnapping, sexual battery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) and Doral Police reported that Hernandez allegedly confessed to raping a woman in unincorporated Miami-Dade County on Thursday before attacking a female employee at a Doral hotel on Friday. Both agencies are actively investigating the incidents.

Thursday’s Sexual Assault

MDSO detectives began investigating the sexual assault case after the victim reported being attacked in a parking lot near 777 NW 72nd Ave. According to arrest documents, the woman said Hernandez struck her in the back of the head with a large rock as she exited her vehicle. He then allegedly covered her mouth, pressed a screwdriver against her neck, and dragged her to a secluded area.

The victim told investigators Hernandez punched her “multiple times” as she tried to escape before forcing her to perform sexual acts and assaulting her while still armed with the screwdriver, according to WPLG Local 10.

“The victim begged [Hernandez] not to kill her because she was in fear for her life,” the arrest report stated. After the assault, Hernandez allegedly fled, leaving the woman with lacerations, abrasions, and bruises.

Friday’s Hotel Attack

Before MDSO located Hernandez, Doral Police arrested him in connection with an unrelated assault on a hotel employee. Authorities said he “physically assaulted” a female worker at the Doral Inn & Suites on 1212 NW 82nd Avenue.

Following his arrest, Hernandez was read his Miranda rights and allegedly confessed to raping the first victim, corroborating her account.

Doral Police told CBS News Miami the hotel assault case remains under investigation, with no additional details released. Hernandez remains in custody as both agencies pursue charges.

The shocking crimes have heightened concerns over violent offenses in the area, with law enforcement urging vigilance.
