Angelina and brad’s Daughter Stuns Guests with Name change and Choreography

Shiloh, the daughter of Hollywood icons Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, made a rare public appearance this week—and her presence came with a noticeable shift. The 19-year-old, known for keeping a low profile, surprised many by using a new name at a high-profile event in Los Angeles.

On Thursday, May 29, Shiloh attended a dinner event celebrating designer Isabel Marant’s collaboration with luxury fashion retailer Net-A-Porter, Variety reported. Far from being a passive guest, Shiloh contributed creatively as the choreographer for singer Luella’s live performance of her latest single, Naïve.

What drew even more attention than her role at the event was the name printed in the press materials: “Shi Joli.” The appearance of the new moniker marks the latest step in Shiloh’s evolving public identity. Last year, PEOPLE confirmed that she had legally dropped “Pitt” from her surname, filing the change on her 18th birthday in May 2024.

The move followed a legal ruling that allowed her to go by Shiloh Jolie. The name change appears to be part of a broader trend among Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s children. Shiloh’s 16-year-old sister, Vivienne, also made headlines recently when she was credited as “Vivienne Jolie” in the Playbill for The Outsiders Broadway production, where she served as a producer alongside her mother.

It remains unclear whether Vivienne has legally changed her name, but the public shift has not gone unnoticed. Their older sister, Zahara, 20, similarly used the surname “Jolie” last November. During her induction into the Mu Pi chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College, she introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie.”

Angelina Jolie, 49, and Brad Pitt, 61, are parents to six children: Maddox (23), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (19), and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Since Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 and sought sole physical custody of the children, the family has remained a subject of intense media interest. Reports over the years have hinted at continued tensions between Pitt and some of the children.

As Shiloh continues to define herself in both creative and personal spaces, her recent appearance as “Shi Joli” signals yet another step in how she, and perhaps her siblings, are shaping their identities apart from their famous last name.
