Nicole Kidman might light up the screen with her powerful performances, but don’t expect to see her sharing that screen with husband Keith Urban anytime soon. Despite fans’ long-standing hopes for a swoon-worthy TV drama starring the beloved couple, Kidman is drawing a clear line between her Emmy-winning career and her family life with the country music icon.
Speaking to People at the Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 premiere in Los Angeles on May 15, the 57-year-old actress was asked if she’d ever consider co-starring in a television series with her husband of nearly two decades. Her answer? A definitive—and delightfully cheeky—no.

“No,” Kidman replied with a smile. “We’re together in life, so we don’t need to do our show together. Our life is a show.”
With that one quote, Kidman made it clear that while the pair might be relationship goals off-screen, they’re in no rush to become co-stars on it. The couple, who married in 2006 and share two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith, have carefully maintained a strong but private partnership—even as their careers continue to thrive in the public eye.
While she may be passing on a fictional collaboration with Urban, Kidman isn’t shutting the door on revisiting some of her most iconic characters. When asked whether she’d be interested in returning to her roles as Masha from Nine Perfect Strangers, Celeste from Big Little Lies, Grace from The Undoing, or Margaret from Expats, the Oscar winner lit up.

“That’s hilarious. I’d be up for it. As you know, I’m up for most things. I like to be able to say I’m game,” she said enthusiastically.
The idea of Kidman’s diverse and emotionally complex characters converging in one chaotic crossover universe seemed to intrigue her as much as it would her fans.

“So I’m always ready to try things, and I have a huge passion for what I do,” she added. “I love doing what I do, and I’ve been incredibly fortunate in my journey, and I’m just always a bit excited. I don’t take any of it for granted. I’m like, ‘Okay, thank you. Thank you, universe.’”
Her words offer a glimpse into the gratitude and passion that continue to fuel her work, even after decades in the industry.
And while her real-life love story with Urban remains off-camera, Kidman’s commitment to creating compelling, character-driven drama is far from over. Whether she’s diving back into old roles or taking on something brand new, one thing’s for sure: Nicole Kidman is always game—and always keeping fans guessing.
