Lottie Tomlinson has reassured fans with a positive health update following an unexpected medical emergency that required surgery during her trip to Abu Dhabi. The 26-year-old influencer, makeup artist, and sister of One Direction star Louis Tomlinson took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, June 19, to share that she is now back at her hotel and recovering well.
Her message came just days after she was hospitalized for severe stomach pain while en route to the Middle Eastern city. “Back where I belong, you make everything better,” Lottie captioned a heartfelt image of her fiancé Lewis Burton playing in the pool with their two young children.
The photo captured a serene family moment and reflected her gratitude for being safely reunited with her loved ones after the health scare. Earlier, Lottie had shared a selfie with Burton from the hospital, updating fans on her condition as they made their way back to the hotel.
For those unfamiliar with the incident, Lottie fell seriously ill mid-flight to Abu Dhabi, experiencing intense abdominal pain. Upon landing, she was quickly admitted to a local hospital. “So I didn’t expect to start my trip like this. But I’m just grateful that I’m recovering now,” she said in a video recorded from her hospital bed.

“I fell quite ill on the way here on the plane with really bad stomach pains.” Initially treated with IV fluids, her condition did not improve, and doctors determined she needed emergency surgery to remove her appendix.
“So last night I had surgery to remove my appendix, and it all went well,” Lottie confirmed, adding that she was thankful for the medical team’s quick response and professionalism. The social media star ended her message by expressing sincere appreciation for the doctors and nurses who helped her through the ordeal.
“I’m so grateful to the staff here for taking such good care of me and making sure everything went smoothly,” she said. Lottie’s update was met with an outpouring of support from fans and followers who were relieved to hear that she was recovering well.
Her candidness about the unexpected turn her trip took served as a reminder of how quickly health situations can arise—and how important prompt medical attention can be. Despite the rocky start to her getaway, Lottie now appears to be on the mend and enjoying precious time with her family in Abu Dhabi.
