Justin Baldoni’s Lawyer Challenges Move to Broadcast Blake Lively’s Testimony at Madison Square Garden

Blake Lively is firing back after a provocative challenge from Justin Baldoni’s legal team suggested her courtroom testimony should be livestreamed from none other than Madison Square Garden — a move that sources close to the actress say trivializes a serious legal matter.

Bryan Freedman, attorney for Baldoni in his legal dispute with It Ends With Us co-star Lively, made headlines when he floated the idea to TMZ.

“If Blake Lively is serious about testifying for the world to see, let’s live stream it in Madison Square Garden and give the money to the domestic violence survivors,” Freedman said, in what many saw as a showy and theatrical escalation.

However, sources close to Lively were quick to denounce the suggestion, telling TMZ that the actress has no intention of turning the courtroom into a “publicity circus.” According to them, she is taking the matter with the gravity it deserves and has no interest in staging a spectacle.

Freedman’s comments were prompted by earlier statements from Lively’s lawyer, Mike Gottlieb, who confirmed to People that Lively is fully prepared to testify. “The ultimate moment for a plaintiff’s story to be told is at trial. We expect that to be the case here [with Lively]. Of course, she’s going to testify,” Gottlieb said.

The legal dispute between the co-stars has taken an increasingly public turn, drawing attention not only for its high-profile players but also for its unusual media developments. Freedman’s dramatic proposal sparked immediate pushback and raised questions about the legal strategy behind such a bold move.

Speculation has also swirled over whether Lively’s close celebrity friends, including Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman, might be pulled into the courtroom drama. Gottlieb quickly dismissed such notions.

“It’s completely unclear what claims or defenses in the case any of these celebrities… have any relevance to at all,” he said, firmly quashing rumors of potential star-studded testimonies.

As for whether Ryan Reynolds, Lively’s husband, will be called to testify, the situation remains uncertain. Gottlieb confirmed that Reynolds, currently named as a defendant in Baldoni’s countersuit, may still be involved, but no final decision has been made.

While the legal process continues to unfold, Lively’s camp has made one thing clear: she will not be entertaining stunts, and she’s ready to face the court on her terms.
