Jay-Z’s legal team has released an explosive audio recording that they claim proves his innocence in the now-dismissed rape lawsuit filed against him.
The recording, obtained by ABC News and Good Morning America on March 12, allegedly captures Jane Doe admitting to private investigators that Jay-Z did not assault her. In the same tape, she reportedly claims that her attorney, Tony Buzbee, pressured her to falsely implicate the rapper.

“But Jay-Z was—you’re saying he was definitely there? But he had no part in it?” a male investigator asks in the recording. Doe responds, “He was there.” When a female investigator presses further, asking if Jay-Z “didn’t have anything to do with any sexual acts towards you,” Doe replies, “Yeah,” before revealing that Buzbee “pushed” her to accuse the music mogul.
However, Buzbee has dismissed the recording as “a fabrication.” In a statement to Page Six, the attorney accused Jay-Z’s legal team of using deceptive tactics. “The investigators tormented and harassed and tricked that poor woman,” Buzbee claimed, insisting that his client “has never wavered” in her accusations against Jay-Z.

Jay-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, strongly disagreed, telling ABC News that the tape “speaks for itself.” “She voluntarily met and spoke with investigators,” Spiro said, emphasizing that the conversation was not coerced. “The truth had to fully come out.” Spiro further argued that Jay-Z was only implicated because “she was pushed to include him by a lawyer.”

With the lawsuit now dismissed, the controversy surrounding the case continues, as both sides offer conflicting narratives. Jay-Z’s legal team insists the recording proves he was wrongly accused, while Buzbee maintains that his client’s allegations remain credible despite the new evidence.
As the public reacts to the shocking turn of events, legal experts suggest that if the claims about coercion are substantiated, it could lead to potential legal consequences for those involved in the case.
