Miranda Kerr has spoken openly about the family dynamic following ex-husband Orlando Bloom’s breakup with singer Katy Perry, making it clear that the split was amicable.
The 42-year-old supermodel, who was married to Bloom from 2010 to 2013, addressed the topic during a radio appearance on KIIS FM’s Kyle & Jackie O Show on Wednesday, September 3. Asked whether Bloom and Perry’s separation had been friendly, Kerr confirmed it had.
“I actually just saw them both on the weekend. We were celebrating [their daughter] Daisy’s birthday,” she said, revealing the former couple had recently reunited to mark their five-year-old’s special day.

Bloom, 48, shares daughter Daisy Dove with Perry, while he also co-parents 14-year-old Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland with Kerr. The Australian model has since built her own family with husband Evan Spiegel, with whom she shares three sons: Hart, seven, Myles, five, and Pierre, 18 months.
Despite the high-profile nature of their blended family, Kerr emphasized that the relationships remain positive. “We’re one big, happy family,” she explained. “Katy is amazing, I love her. And Orlando obviously.”
She went on to stress the importance of prioritizing harmony when children are involved. “If you do have animosity, it only hurts yourself,” she noted.
Kerr’s comments paint a picture of a modern family dynamic that continues to thrive despite separations and new relationships. Over the course of Bloom and Perry’s nine-year relationship, the group successfully navigated challenges while creating a supportive environment for their children. Kerr has long spoken about her friendship with Perry, often referring to her as part of the family.
While Bloom and Perry ended their engagement in June, the atmosphere surrounding them appears far from bitter. By coming together for Daisy’s birthday celebration, the families underscored their commitment to maintaining close bonds.

The ability to preserve goodwill has not only benefited their children but has also created a public example of how celebrity families can manage breakups without public drama. Kerr’s remarks serve as a reminder that, even after romantic relationships end, respect and cooperation can keep family ties strong.
With Kerr balancing motherhood alongside her business ventures, Bloom focused on his acting projects, and Perry continuing her music career, all appear determined to put family at the center of their lives.
As Kerr summed up, the absence of hostility makes all the difference. By choosing positivity, she, Bloom, and Perry have built a blended family that seems intent on thriving.
