Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau Dine in Montreal After Her Split from Orlando Bloom

In a celebrity twist no one saw coming, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and pop sensation Katy Perry were spotted dining together at a chic Montreal restaurant, stirring widespread curiosity and speculation. Exclusive video footage of Trudeau, 53, and Perry, 40, sharing an intimate meal at Le Violon on Monday evening.

The upscale Plateau eatery located just blocks from Trudeau’s former Papineau riding offered the surprising duo a cozy two-seater table, where they were seen sipping cocktails, sharing dishes, and deeply engaged in conversation. TMZ reported that the two dined alone, enjoying the acclaimed French-inspired menu that has made Le Violon one of Canada’s culinary hotspots.

According to eyewitnesses, security was discreet but present, monitoring the scene from the bar behind mirrored glass. The pair also received a visit from the head chef and reportedly expressed personal thanks to the kitchen staff before departing.

Though neither party has commented publicly, the nature of the dinner remains unclear. TMZ stated: “It’s unclear whether this was a romantic date or just a friendly hang.” Regardless, the fact that both Trudeau and Perry are recently single has only amplified the intrigue.

Perry confirmed her breakup with longtime fiancé Orlando Bloom just last month. Justin Trudeau and his former wife, Sophie Grégoire, announced their separation in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. The coincidental timing of their single status has led many online to speculate about a possible budding romance.

Perry is currently in Canada for her tour, with a performance in Ottawa on Tuesday night and another show scheduled in Montreal on Wednesday. Trudeau, having stepped down from political life earlier this year after nearly two decades in office and three successful election campaigns, has been focusing on family life. His social media presence now features serene hikes, skiing adventures, and moments with his three children.

As for Le Violon, the restaurant is anything but ordinary. It was recently named “Best New Restaurant” by Canada’s 100 Best and ranked 11th overall in the country. The Michelin Guide praises it for its modern French menu, including gourmet pan con tomate and beef cheek bordelaise served with Robuchon-style potato purée.

No statements have been released by representatives for either Trudeau or Perry. Until more is revealed, Canadians are left wondering whether this was a one-time dinner between two high-profile friends—or the beginning of an unexpected celebrity pairing that could captivate the country.
