Jennifer Lopez is stepping into her next chapter with confidence and a whole lot of joy. The superstar recently opened up about how she’s really doing after her split from Ben Affleck and made it very clear she’s not rushing back into the dating scene.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Lopez laughed off the idea of diving into the dating pool again, especially after her comedian friend Tiffany Haddish joked about them going “manhunting” together.

“She said that to me! I said, ‘Girl, I’m not looking for no man. I’m happy right now. I’m not trying to ruin it, okay?’” Lopez told the outlet with a smile.
At 55, the singer and actress is reflecting on how far she’s come, personally and professionally. After three years of marriage to Affleck, their divorce was finalized in January following their filing in August 2024. But Lopez isn’t letting that define her. She’s finding peace and joy in where she is right now.
Talking to Spanish newspaper El País, she said, “I’m happier that I’m a step further along than I was a year ago, two years ago, three years ago. I’m proud of myself for that, and I’m proud that I was able to navigate my children through difficult times, that they’re stronger and better because of it. So it’s a great time to go out there and dance and sing and have a good time with everybody. This is a perfect time.”
That sense of renewal and celebration is definitely carrying over into her work. On Wednesday, May 28, Lopez announced she’s kicking off her second Las Vegas residency later this year. Fans can expect another round of unforgettable performances as she returns to the stage in a big way.
She’s not wasting any time getting back in the spotlight either. Just two days before her residency announcement, Lopez performed at the American Music Awards on Tuesday, May 26, lighting up the stage with her signature energy and charisma.
It’s been a whirlwind few years for the On The Floor singer, but Lopez seems more grounded than ever. Between co-parenting, processing a high-profile breakup, and continuing to evolve as an artist, she’s managed to come out the other side stronger and more at peace.

Her openness about not needing a relationship to feel fulfilled struck a chord with fans. In a culture where celebrities are often expected to bounce back into romance quickly, Lopez’s decision to just be happy with herself is refreshing and empowering.
Right now, she’s all about the music, her kids, and creating unforgettable moments for fans. And judging by her recent interviews, she’s not looking back.
Jennifer Lopez is dancing her way through this new phase of life, and she’s doing it on her own terms — no man needed.
