Hoda Kotb May Appear on Kelly Clarkson’s Talk Show Amid Rumors She Could Replace Her

Television personality Hoda Kotb recently taped an interview for The Kelly Clarkson Show, sparking widespread speculation that she could be in line to replace Kelly Clarkson as host. However, Page Six has confirmed that the rumors are unfounded—Kotb’s appearance was strictly promotional, tied to the launch of her new self-titled wellness brand.

Though the interview has yet to air, multiple sources have clarified that Kotb is not being considered as Clarkson’s replacement. Her focus remains on her business endeavors, particularly a high-profile launch event for her wellness brand set to take place in New York City on May 28.

Despite this clarification, questions continue to swirl about Clarkson’s future with her namesake daytime talk show. Persistent rumors suggest that the singer may be considering a departure from both the show and New York City, where it is currently filmed.

Still, hope remains within Clarkson’s inner circle. A source close to the production recently told Page Six that there’s optimism she might agree to extend her role for another two years. NBC executives are reportedly pleased with the idea, with insiders saying the network is “very fond” of both Clarkson and the program.

But not everyone at NBC is confident about her return. One insider admitted that Clarkson’s comeback is far from certain. Meanwhile, a Daily Mail report this week revealed that some show staffers are growing uneasy amid the uncertainty. “Not feeling too stable,” one anonymous staff member reportedly said. “She could bolt at any time. Where does that leave me?”

Another producer, speaking on background, praised Clarkson’s personality but hinted that Kotb might bring more consistency to the production environment. “Everyone loves Kelly,” the producer said. “She’s a wonderful person. Maybe Hoda would be a better boss. I know she’s universally beloved and respected by her former co-workers. Maybe she would be good.

She sure would be a lot more stable than what we’ve been going through.” “If Hoda wants to do it, it could be win-win for everyone,” the insider added, reigniting curiosity about Kotb’s long-term involvement. Concerns about Clarkson’s commitment to the show began in March, when she was absent from the program for more than two weeks without explanation.

At the time, TMZ reported that she was “completely fine” and dealing with “a personal matter that does not directly involve her,” noting it was not a cause for alarm. As fans await more clarity, it’s clear both Kotb and Clarkson are navigating transitional phases, leaving the future of The Kelly Clarkson Show uncertain.
