“I had an infection in the South of France, and it’s been four months now that I haven’t been able to see,” said the 77-year-old. “I lost vision in my right eye, and my left eye isn’t doing well either.” The Rocket Man singer admitted that his condition has made making music difficult, but he remains hopeful about recovery.
“There’s hope and encouragement that it will be OK, but I’m kind of stuck at the moment,” he explained. “I can do something like this interview, but going into the studio and recording is difficult because I can’t see the lyrics to start,” Elton emphasized that finding a solution to his vision problems is his primary focus.
“It kinda floored me, and I can’t see anything. I can’t read anything, I can’t watch anything,” he said, describing the profound impact on his daily life. The Cold Heart hitmaker first disclosed his struggles with the severe eye infection in September. In an Instagram post on September 3, he wrote, “I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process, and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.”
