Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney has opened up in a rare interview about raising twins with her husband, Hollywood actor George Clooney, offering a candid look at how the couple prioritizes privacy and partnership in their family life.
Speaking to Glamour magazine, Amal discussed their conscious efforts to shield their children from the spotlight. The couple, who welcomed twins Alexander and Ella in 2017, have long maintained a strong boundary between their public profiles and private life as parents.
“We don’t put our children out there, we’ve never put their photo out there or anything like that,” said the 47-year-old barrister. She emphasized their commitment to protecting their children’s privacy, explaining that they do everything they can to “minimise” any impact of fame on their upbringing.
“I would say becoming a parent means you’re more troubled by some of the intrusions,” Amal added, alluding to the challenges of parenting under intense public scrutiny. Married for nearly a decade, the Clooneys are widely admired for their enduring relationship.
In the interview, Amal also praised her husband for being a dependable and encouraging partner, particularly during the early days of motherhood. “I remember when I became a mom, which was obviously a new frontier. He was the first one to say, ‘I know you’ve got this speech at the Security Council. You have to go, I’ve got the kids, don’t worry about it,’” Amal recalled.
“He was just right there, stepping in without hesitation.” She expressed gratitude for their shared life, noting how meaningful the little everyday moments have become. “I treasure the laughter and the joy that I get from just being with them,” Amal said, referring to both George and their children.
Despite their high-profile careers—Amal’s in international law and George’s in entertainment and philanthropy—the Clooneys appear united in creating a nurturing, grounded environment for their family.
