Amy Schumer Reveals How Her Family Really Feels About Her Fame

Amy Schumer recently shared candid insights into her family life, her husband’s grounded approach to her fame, and how her son views her work while promoting her upcoming Netflix comedy Kinda Pregnant. Speaking on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, the comedian and actress offered a lighthearted glimpse into her home life.

Schumer revealed that her son, Gene, hasn’t watched most of her movies, with a few exceptions. “He’s seen Trolls 3 and a few snippets of other movies like Trainwreck—he thought the dunking scene was funny,” she said. She added that Gene finds the stunts amusing but hasn’t fully delved into her body of work.

When discussing her husband, Chris Fischer, Schumer shared that his lack of interest in her celebrity status keeps their relationship balanced. “Sometimes [Chris will] try to empathize with it,” she said, before joking, “but he doesn’t care.” She credited Fischer’s upbringing in Martha’s Vineyard, a place known for its share of famous residents, for his nonchalant attitude toward her stardom.

Schumer also praised Fischer, a professional chef, for his unwavering support, particularly in helping with their son. “I don’t worry about [our son] being taken care of,” she said, noting that his involvement has enabled her to return to touring.

Reflecting on their relationship, Schumer recounted meeting Fischer in November 2017 and tying the knot shortly after in a Malibu ceremony. The couple welcomed their son, Gene, in May 2019. At the time, Schumer expressed her desire to be present as much as possible, saying, “I wanted to be with him as much as I can.”

As for her career, Schumer is gearing up for the release of her latest comedy film, Kinda Pregnant, set to premiere on Netflix on February 5. The film features an ensemble cast, including Will Forte, Jillian Bell, Brianne Howey, and Lizze Broadway. The comedian expressed excitement about the project, which blends humor and heartfelt moments in Schumer’s signature style.

While balancing motherhood, marriage, and a thriving career, Schumer’s candid reflections highlight her grounded approach to life and her focus on family amidst the chaos of Hollywood.
