Following a year of separation, AJ McLean, a member of the Backstreet Boys, and his wife Rochelle have decided to officially divorce.
The couple, married for 12 years and separated for one, announced their decision on social media. In a heartfelt statement, AJ expressed, “As you all know we have been separated for over a year now. While we hoped for reconciliation, we have decided to officially end our marriage. We make this decision with deep love and respect.”
The focus for AJ, 45, and Rochelle, 41, is now on moving forward healthily, maintaining a friendship, and co-parenting their daughters, Elliott, 10, and Lyric, 6. They asked for kindness, respect, and privacy during this time.
The news of their separation came in March 2023, with both expressing hope for a future reunion. They had taken time apart to work on themselves, aiming to “nurture [their] love for one another and [their] family.”
AJ and Rochelle married in December 2011 in Los Angeles, having met when Rochelle was waitressing at a restaurant three years prior. The couple recently attended a screening of ‘Trolls: Band Together’ with their daughters, signaling their commitment to family unity amidst personal changes.
