Keith Urban turned an awkward fan encounter into a laugh-out-loud moment during the final show of his High and Alive World Tour in Nashville. The country star, 57, was performing at Bridgestone Arena on Friday when a brief exchange with an audience member caught everyone’s attention — and ended in laughter.
According to a video shared by Nashville Experience, Urban paused mid-show to speak with someone in the crowd. “What’s your name?” he asked. When the fan responded, Urban looked momentarily puzzled and repeated, “What? I’m not going to like your name?”
The fan then spoke into the microphone to clarify: “It’s Nicole.”

Instantly realizing the coincidence, Urban dropped to the floor of the stage, lying flat on his back as the audience roared with laughter. After a few seconds, he raised one arm toward the ceiling in playful surrender before getting back to his feet, smiling and shaking his head at the unexpected moment.
The lighthearted exchange came just weeks after Urban’s high-profile divorce from actress Nicole Kidman. The couple, who married in 2006, announced their separation last month after 19 years of marriage.
Despite the personal turmoil, Urban seemed in good spirits as he wrapped up his tour. The Nashville show marked the final stop of his High and Alive World Tour, which came just a day after he was forced to cancel a performance in Greenville, South Carolina, due to laryngitis. At the time, Urban took to social media to apologize to fans, explaining that he was under “complete vocal rest” as ordered by his doctor.
Fans praised the singer for handling the “Nicole” moment with warmth and humor, a testament to his charm and professionalism even amid difficult personal circumstances. The crowd’s laughter and applause quickly turned the exchange into one of the most memorable moments of the night.
Urban has not publicly commented on the divorce since Kidman’s filing, which cited irreconcilable differences. For now, he appears to be focusing on music — and maintaining his trademark good humor.
As one fan commented online after the show, “Only Keith could make a moment like that funny instead of awkward.” And judging by the crowd’s reaction, the country star did just that.
