Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly accepted that he will not be leaving prison anytime soon after learning that President Donald Trump will not grant him a presidential pardon. The music mogul, who was sentenced to just over four years in federal prison on October 3 for charges related to prostitution, had been hoping his political connections might secure an early release.
According to sources close to Combs, he was confident that help from Washington would come through. He allegedly told friends he expected to be out within weeks and that his team had been quietly reaching out to political allies for support. For months, Diddy’s inner circle believed Trump might intervene on his behalf.
However, those efforts appear to have gone nowhere. Reporter Rob Shuter, citing insiders from Diddy’s camp, revealed that all communication lines have now gone silent. “He really thought it was a done deal,” Shuter wrote on Substack, as reported by Radar Online. “He was telling people he’d be out in weeks. Now reality’s sinking in.”

Shuter added, “Turns out, no one’s returning his calls anymore.” Trump confirmed that Diddy had reached out for a pardon but made it clear that he would not grant the request. The president acknowledged knowing Combs socially but said their relationship had soured during his time in politics.
“A lot of people have asked me for pardons,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “I call him Puff Daddy, [he] has asked me for a pardon.” “I was very friendly with him. I got along with him great, and he seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t know him well, but when I ran for office, he was very hostile,” Trump continued.
When asked directly if he would deny the request, Trump replied, “I would say so, yeah.” For Diddy, the rejection marks a sharp turn from optimism to disillusionment. Once one of the most powerful figures in music, he now faces the full weight of his sentence with no clear path to early freedom.

Those close to him say the realization has hit hard. What began as a confident belief in his political influence has turned into quiet acceptance that he will have to serve his time. While Diddy remains hopeful for the future, sources say the silence from his former political contacts has made his situation feel more isolating than ever.
