Georgia Woman Found Shot to Death in Abandoned Storage Unit Behind Atlanta Strip Mall

Authorities in Atlanta have charged a man already behind bars with the murder of a woman whose body was found inside a storage facility last month.

On Campbellton Road, police made the grim discovery of 29-year-old Alexis J. Harlow. She was found shot to death in a storage unit, and investigators later determined that she had been dead for at least a full day before her body was located.

“She had been dead for at least 24 hours before she was found,” investigators told Channel 2’s Michael Seiden, underscoring how much time had passed before her death was uncovered.

Police have now charged 20-year-old Reginald Elliot in connection with Harlow’s killing. Elliot was already in custody at the time the charges were filed. According to Fulton County Jail records, he had been arrested on August 28 by the Morehouse College Police Department on unrelated charges.

Those charges included bringing a weapon onto school property, theft, and a series of drug and gun-related offenses. Court records show he was granted a $115,000 bond in that case, according to Atlanta-based ABC affiliate WSB-TV.

Elliot now faces a slate of additional charges tied to Harlow’s death, including murder and aggravated assault. Authorities have not said how Elliot and Harlow may have known each other, nor have they disclosed a potential motive for the killing.

The case has rattled residents near the Campbellton Road area, where the discovery of Harlow’s body brought shock and fear. Storage facilities are often quiet and tucked away, and the fact that the crime went unnoticed for so long has only heightened community concern.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Harlow’s death and are asking anyone with information to come forward. While Elliot remains in custody, authorities say they are working to piece together a clearer timeline of events leading up to the discovery.

For now, Harlow’s family is left to mourn the sudden and violent loss of their loved one, while prosecutors prepare to move forward with the case against Elliot.
