A 19-year-old woman is facing serious charges after police say she intentionally struck another woman with her car during an argument at a gas station in Parkway Village.
The incident happened on September 4 at the Sunoco station in the 2700 block of Perkins Road. Police identified the driver as Hannah Graham, who has been charged with aggravated assault and leaving the scene of an accident involving injury or death.
According to investigators, a witness reported seeing a gold Nissan Altima accelerate and pin the victim against the exterior wall of the gas station. The impact not only injured the woman but also caused damage to the building.
The victim was rushed to Regional One Medical Center, where doctors performed surgery on her broken right femur. Police said she is expected to recover but faces a long rehabilitation, WREG reported.
Surveillance footage captured the entire confrontation. Investigators said the video showed the Altima first reversing, then lining up with the victim before accelerating directly toward her. Witnesses added that there was a passenger inside the car at the time. After the collision, the driver fled the scene without offering aid.
Authorities later confirmed that both the victim and a witness were able to identify Graham from a six-person lineup as the individual behind the wheel. Police said the calculated nature of the act—putting the vehicle in reverse, aligning with the victim, and accelerating—demonstrated intent.
The surveillance evidence has become central to the case. The violent encounter left bystanders shaken. One witness told officers the moment unfolded quickly and left the victim with no chance to avoid being struck. The wall of the gas station bore visible damage from the crash, underscoring the force of the impact.
Graham was taken into custody and booked into jail, where records show she is being held on a $100,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
The charges against her carry potentially severe penalties, reflecting the seriousness of the injuries and the decision to leave the scene. Investigators said they are also reviewing whether additional charges could be filed depending on the progress of the victim’s recovery.
The case remains under investigation, but police emphasized that the surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts provided strong evidence of what transpired.
