Jeanine Pirro reportedly turned down an FBI job offer from Trump due to Kash Patel

Former Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, who currently serves as the United States attorney for the District of Columbia, reportedly declined an offer from President Donald Trump to take a top position at the FBI. Sources indicate that Pirro rejected the offer because she did not want to work under FBI Director Kash Patel.

The offer, which was made last year, was for Pirro to take the number two job at the FBI, which is currently held by Deputy Director Dan Bongino. This revelation came from New York Times correspondent Glenn Thrush, who reported the story on Sunday.

According to sources, Pirro turned down the position “because she didn’t want to work for Kash Patel, the bureau’s inexperienced director.” Patel’s tenure as FBI director has been a subject of scrutiny, with some criticizing his lack of experience for such a high-profile role.

Pirro’s decision to turn down the offer follows a pattern of moves involving Trump’s administration. In May, Trump appointed Pirro as acting U.S. attorney in Washington, D.C., after pulling the nomination of Ed Martin, a controversial figure with strong ties to Trump’s “Stop the Steal” movement.

Martin was later appointed as the director of the Weaponization Working Group at the Department of Justice. The dynamics of these appointments and rejections reflect the ongoing tensions and shifting alliances within Trump’s administration, particularly when it comes to law enforcement leadership.

While Pirro’s decision has sparked conversation, it underscores the internal struggles and differing priorities that have shaped Trump’s appointments and reappointments. The revelation also raises questions about the influence and leadership of figures like Kash Patel, whose role in the FBI has been a point of contention within both political and law enforcement circles.

Pirro, who gained national recognition for her work on Fox News, has continued to be an influential figure in the legal and political arenas. Her tenure as U.S. attorney in Washington, D.C., places her at the center of key legal discussions, particularly as the Trump administration’s legacy continues to shape the nation’s political landscape.

As these developments unfold, the future of both Pirro and Patel within the FBI and broader political sphere remains a subject of speculation.
