“I will be back I promised them” Melania Trump wears a Charm Bracelet to Honor Victims of Texas Flooding

Melania Trump paid a personal and heartfelt tribute to the victims of the devastating Texas floods by wearing a charm bracelet gifted to her by a grieving family. The first lady accompanied President Donald Trump on a July 11 visit to Texas Hill Country, where they toured flood-ravaged communities and met with survivors.

During a roundtable meeting with local officials, Melania shared the emotional story behind the bracelet, which she wore on her left wrist.

“We just met with the wonderful families. We prayed with them. We hugged. We held hands,” she said. “They shared their stories, and I met beautiful young ladies who gave me this special bracelet from the camp in honor of all the little girls who lost their lives. We are here to honor them and also to give support and help.”

She added: “I will be back I promised them. I pray for them and am giving them my strength and love.”

According to a statement from her official office, the charm bracelet was a gift from the Hotze Family, in memory of the young lives lost at Camp Mystic—a nearly century-old all-girls summer camp in Kerr County. The camp, located on 700 acres along the Guadalupe River, was among the areas hardest hit by the flooding.

Since July 4, when torrential rains caused the river to overflow, more than 120 lives have been lost. The waters surged through homes and summer camps in the early morning hours, leaving communities shattered and families mourning.

The Trumps landed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio before heading to Kerrville, where they surveyed the damage and met with volunteers and first responders searching for the missing.

Earlier that day, Melania was photographed leaving the White House in a khaki jacket and monochromatic green ensemble, paired with animal-print sunglasses and Converse sneakers—a look reminiscent of Vice President Kamala Harris’s casual style.

For her arrival in Texas, she pulled her loose waves into a black baseball cap. Though she has kept a relatively low profile in recent months, Melania has appeared at several major public events during her husband’s second term, including his second inauguration, July 4th celebrations, and the White House’s 250th anniversary event for the U.S. Army.
