Rapper and actor Machine Gun Kelly, real name Colson Baker, is embracing fatherhood with deep emotion and pride, recently sharing how being a “girl dad” to his two daughters has profoundly changed his life.
Making a rare red carpet appearance with his 15-year-old daughter, Casie Colson Baker, at the Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday, June 22, MGK and Casie offered a glimpse into their growing family dynamic, now including newborn Saga Blade Fox-Baker.
When asked about her feelings toward her baby sister, Casie responded with warmth and affection. “I think she’s just a good addition to the family,” said Casie. “Now we have two girls in the family, I have another sibling, it’s cute.”
MGK shares Casie with his ex Emma Cannon, and welcomed Saga, now two months old, with actress Megan Fox. While the relationships with both mothers have ended, the bond with his daughters appears stronger than ever.
Speaking to ABC7.the event, the Emo Girl hitmaker opened up about how fatherhood has impacted his life on a deeper level.
“It opened up the side of myself that I needed to stay alive to this point. Without her, it’s an easy decline, you know?” he said, referring to the emotional grounding his children give him.
His remarks echo sentiments he previously shared on the Life Lessons YouTube series, where he discussed his hopes for building a more meaningful relationship with his children than he had with his own parents.
“As much as a f— up people say I am, I pray that I have the connection I didn’t have with my parents with my kid. When I’m with her, nothing else matters,” MGK said at the time.
Now a father of two daughters from two different relationships, MGK seems focused on fostering strong bonds within his blended family. Both fans and followers have taken note of how openly and vulnerably the artist speaks about parenting, a side of him that contrasts with his public image as a rebellious musician.
As Saga grows and Casie steps into the role of big sister, MGK appears determined to make fatherhood a central focus of his life, showing a side of himself few may have expected, but many are now applauding.
