Ashley Biden, daughter of Joe Biden, is forcefully rejecting mounting media speculation about her father’s mental fitness, calling recent reports “disrespectful and untrue” in a pointed Instagram post shared on Monday, June 2.
Posting a beachside family photo featuring herself, Biden, and Jill Biden, Ashley dismissed rumors of cognitive decline and accusations of a White House cover-up, directly addressing what she called “false portrayals” fueled by unnamed sources and sensationalist reporting.
“The ONLY coverup of this family is a BEACH coverup,” Ashley wrote in the caption. “He aged, YES! As we all do! And the stress of the presidency accelerates. But he was always MORE than capable of doing the job. And a damn good one.”
Her post came amid a flurry of media attention following the release of new books alleging behind-the-scenes concerns about the president’s health. Though Ashley did not name specific authors or outlets, her comments clearly took aim at anonymous sourcing and the broader media narrative, according to Fox News.
“The noise is so DAMN disrespectful and untrue,” she continued. “Created by those committed to perpetuating and profiting from some real BS. Get lost with your anonymous sources and fake news.”
Ashley praised her father’s work ethic and dedication, describing his presidency as a “sacred obligation” and saying he “worked harder than anyone I have ever known.” She also thanked supporters for their kind words following Biden’s recent prostate cancer diagnosis.
“We, like any family, chose HOPE during times of great despair/uphill battles,” she wrote. “And we continue to choose hope. That’s what Dad taught + gave us.” Her passionate defense was echoed by her niece, Naomi Biden, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to denounce the controversial book Original Sin, calling it “political fairy smut.”
“Just read a copy of this silly book,” wrote Naomi, the 31-year-old daughter of Hunter Biden. “Put simply, it amounts to a bunch of unoriginal, uninspired lies written by irresponsible self-promoting journalists out to make a quick buck.” Naomi also dismissed the book’s claims as relying on “unnamed, anonymous sources pushing a self-serving false narrative.”
However, both women’s defenses were met with swift backlash on social media. Critics accused the Biden family of covering up the president’s condition, questioning his time spent away from Washington and calling him “the worst president in United States history.”
Despite the polarizing responses, Ashley and Naomi’s public pushback marks a rare, coordinated response from the Biden family — one aimed at reclaiming the narrative and defending the president’s legacy.
