In a now-familiar pattern, President Donald Trump used a solemn federal holiday to launch a blistering tirade against his political enemies—this time choosing Memorial Day to direct his fury toward the U.S. judiciary and the “radical left.”
Rather than focusing on the traditional purpose of the day—to honor and remember fallen American service members—Trump instead posted a scathing message on social media, aimed at judges, immigrants, and Democratic leadership.

In a post written entirely in capital letters, Trump began with: “Happy Memorial Day to all, including the scum that spent the last four years trying to destroy our country through warped radical left minds, who allowed 21,000,000 million people to illegally enter our country, many of them being criminals and the mentally insane, through an open border that only an incompetent president would approve.”
From there, Trump intensified his rhetoric, targeting what he referred to as “USA-hating judges” and accusing them of enabling crime and chaos across the nation. He claimed these judges were “on a mission to keep murderers, drug dealers, rapists, gang members, and released prisoners from all over the world, in our country so they can rob, murder, and rape again.”
“They suffer from an ideology that is sick and very dangerous for our country,” he continued. “Hopefully, the United States Supreme Court, and other good and compassionate judges throughout the land, will save us from the decisions of the monsters who want our country to go to hell.”
The post, which echoed many of Trump’s past grievances, came just weeks after he made similarly inflammatory comments during his Easter message—another holiday typically marked by unity and reflection. That message also targeted the judiciary, calling out “Radical Left Lunatics” and “WEAK and INEFFECTIVE judges.”
Despite the somber tone that usually defines Memorial Day, Trump closed his latest message with a characteristic note of defiance and optimism, writing: “But fear not, we have made great progress over the last four months, and America will soon be safe and great again! Again, Happy Memorial Day, and God bless America.”
The post drew swift criticism from political commentators and veterans’ groups, many of whom viewed the message as disrespectful and inappropriate given the day’s significance. Nonetheless, it aligns with Trump’s ongoing strategy of using high-profile moments to energize his base and rail against the institutions he views as politically hostile.
