Caitlyn Jenner has recently criticized President Joe Biden for what she perceives as a conflict between the scheduling of Easter and the celebration of a significant event in the transgender community. The 74-year-old television personality voiced her concerns during an appearance on Fox News, where she discussed the overlap of Easter with the Transgender Day of Visibility.

Jenner, referencing a widely debunked claim about Easter eggs, argued that the President’s acknowledgment of the transgender event on a religious holiday was inappropriate. According to Radar Online, Jenner expressed that while she supports the Transgender Day of Visibility and has participated in it previously, she believes President Biden should have refrained from making any proclamation about it, especially since it coincided with Easter this year.

She suggested that by staying silent, Biden could have avoided any controversy. Jenner accused the political left of manipulating media narratives and lamented what she sees as their attempt to undermine traditional values, including religion and the family structure. Jenner’s argument hinged on the disputed claim that the Biden Administration had removed religious symbols from Easter eggs used at the White House’s annual Easter Egg Roll.

This claim, however, has been repeatedly disproven. It’s important to note that guidelines for the Easter eggs at the White House have historically prohibited “questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements.” This policy has been in place for decades, spanning eight presidential administrations over 45 years, and was confirmed by the American Egg Board.

The Transgender Day of Visibility, celebrated globally since 2009, aims to acknowledge and support the transgender community, highlighting the challenges they face. It is observed annually on March 31. This year, the day coincided with Easter Sunday, leading to heightened sensitivities around the observance of both events.

Jenner took to social media to express her dismay, criticizing Biden’s proclamation of the Transgender Day of Visibility as disrespectful to the sanctity of Easter, particularly criticizing Biden, who often speaks of his Catholic faith. The White House had released a statement in support of the Transgender Day of Visibility, affirming solidarity with transgender Americans and assuring them of the administration’s support.

This declaration by President Biden emphasized inclusivity and acceptance, asserting that transgender individuals are an integral part of the American fabric. This stance, while intended to promote understanding and equality, has sparked debate about the intersection of religious observance and the recognition of diverse identities within the national discourse.
