Piers Morgan, the outspoken former presenter of “Good Morning Britain” (GMB), has recently taken a strong stance against Omid Scobie, the biographer of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, in his latest book titled “Endgame.” Morgan, who has been a vocal critic of the couple, particularly since their interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, expressed his discontent on X, a social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

The 58-year-old TV presenter described Scobie as a ‘shameless lying lickspittle,’ a term indicating sycophantic behavior, in response to claims made in “Endgame” about Morgan’s alleged relationship with Queen Camilla. The book, which was released on Tuesday, November 28, has stirred controversy with its revelations about various members of the royal family.

Morgan vehemently denied the allegations made by Scobie, particularly the claim that he has had ‘regular chats on the phone’ with Queen Camilla. He labeled the author a “lying twerp” and insisted that he has never had a single phone conversation with her in his life. This denial was part of a broader denouncement of the book, which Morgan considers to be full of falsehoods.

In an earlier tweet, Morgan launched a scathing attack on Scobie, questioning the credibility of the author’s work. He suggested that if the bits about him in the book are untrue, as he personally knows them to be, then it casts doubt on the rest of Scobie’s writings about the royals and their personal relationships.

Omid Scobie, who co-wrote the biography “Finding Freedom” about Harry and Meghan, has faced criticism for being perceived as an “unofficial mouthpiece” for Meghan Markle, despite denying any close personal relationship with her. This perception stems from the sympathetic portrayal of the couple in his writings, which some critics, like Morgan, view as biased.

Morgan’s reaction reflects the ongoing tension between certain media figures and members of the royal family, particularly in the wake of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to step back from royal duties and their subsequent media appearances. This situation highlights the complex and often contentious relationship between public figures and the press.
