the-planters-punchThe Planter’s Punch Drink is a classic rum drink that first appeared in print in a 1908 edition of the New York Times. Like other drinks, this has a disputed origin: one claim refers to the Planter’s Hotel in St. Louis and another tells of a Jamaican planter’s wife who concocted it to cool down the workers.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz.) Appleton Estate Amber Rum
1 1 /2 oz of orange juice
1 soup spoon of fresh lemon juice
2 dashes Angostura bitters
2 dashes Grenadine
1 tea spoon of sugar
Ice cubes
Orange slice and Cherry

Method:

Combine all the above ingredients into a shaker filled with ice cubes. Stir it using a mixing spoon and strain into a Collins glass filled with ice cubes. Garnish with orange slices and cherry to top of the presentation. Don’t forget to drink responsibly…
